Hosting Your Wordpress Blog

WordPress is probably the most popular blogging software in the world. You may or may not know that you can get a free wordpress blog over at wordpress.com.

That might seem like a logical place to start but here’s my thoughts on free blogging services:

When you sign up for them it’s great, but you’re really cutting yourself short. Since you’re not paying anything for the blog you don’t really own it. WordPress.com could turn off your blog for any reason they want. Don’t get me wrong, they are really cool over there and probably wouldn’t do that, but they could.

Let’s suppose you have years worth of blog posts in there. If they turn off your blog it’s all gone!

Secondly you don’t really own the content you write. That might not sound like a big deal right now but if you get hundreds of people per day reading your blog it sure will.

My advice is find some good webhosting companies that can host wordpress blogs. There are many of them out there that will install the wordpress blogging software for you at no charge.

Still others have a special “one-click” installation which makes setting up wordpress a breeze.

There are a bunch of web hosts that *can* host your wordpress blog but do a really bad job of it. Mostly because they make setting up wordpress harder than it needs to be or even worse their servers are very slow and your blog won’t get read because the page load time takes too long for people.

So if you want to know the best places to host your wordpress blog head on into my blog and I’ll share with you the best companies I’ve ever found for hosting this great free blogging software.

Happy Blogging.
